© Bennett & Fagon Lakes Association Your Membership in the Bennett and Fagan Lakes Association is important! By joining, you help to support the funding of a variety of services.  The Board supports and sponsors:   Social Activities:  Annual all-ages regatta held on the August Civic Weekend  Horseshoe & volleyball tournaments held on Civic Sunday as well as Labour Day Sunday  Fireworks display off Picnic Island.  This spectacular tradition costs over a thousand dollars each year.   Education and outreach:  Qualified volunteers test and monitor lake water quality      Membership funds have made it possible to purchase our own test equipment to ensure consistent testing of the 10 GPS sites that have been charted for years.  Informative newsletters usually sent by E-mail to members.  Updates on police, fire and ministry laws provided at the Annual General Meeting  Supports mandatory septic  inspection of systems > 25 years   Member of Federation of Ontario Cottage Association: access to publications, programs and resources.  Reduced insurance rates available.    Safety:  2 fire pumps on Bennett Lake (red hut at Ennis Beach & Blue barrel at Scott Court) maintained by  Bud Ennis. 2 new hoses just purchased.  Because of these pumps, cottages and property saved during Aug. 2011 fire on Birch Road.   Directors monitor ice fishing huts so debris is not left behind that would damage motors when the ice thaws New for 2013 Members A complementary Cottage Watch decal will  provided to all 2013 members. Information on purchasing extra decals will be included in the Spring Newsletter. Friendly Responsible Neighbourhoods:  Area road representatives encourage membership and increase awareness of Association activities Good stewardship of lake resources promoted so all can enjoy the beauty of this area.   Road volunteers keep property lists up to date so owners can be informed and responsible.   Your Association membership and donation to fireworks is one of the best added value purchases you can make.
